Why this stack
We chose tools built for the way a small business actually gets protected — not the biggest logo, the one that fits the job.
Huntress is the clearest example. The detection engine matters, but what matters more for a business without its own security team is that a 24/7 human SOC is included— real analysts triage every alert and send back a plain-English report with what happened and what to do. Plenty of enterprise EDR products score higher on paper, but they assume you bring your own around-the-clock analysts to watch them. Out here, that's not realistic — so we run the platform that brings the watch team with it.
The rest follows the same logic: Microsoft 365 via Pax8 so we secure and bill what you already license; immutable, tested backups because a backup you've never restored isn't a backup; and documentation in Huduso there's no “it's all in one person's head.” Named tools, sensible reasons — not a black box.
